 Jen Cross is a writer and writing workshop facilitator, the author of Writing Ourselves Whole: Using the Power of Your Own Creativity to Recover and Heal from Sexual Trauma and Write to Restore: A Step-By-Step Creative Writing Journal for Survivors of Sexual Trauma,  and the co-editor (along with Dr. Carol Queen and Amy Butcher) of the award-winning Sex Still Spoken Here: An Erotic Reading Circle Anthology. Jen’s fiction and creative nonfiction have appeared in over 50 anthologies and periodicals, including Sinister Wisdom, The Healing Art of Writing 2010, Under the Gum Tree, The Elephants, Sinister Wisdom, Visible: A Femmethology (Vol. 1), and Best Sex Writing 2008.

Through her writing and in writing groups, Jen investigates and challenges the ways we understand ourselves via our language, and how we transform our sense of ourselves when we examine new the facets of our stories. She has facilitated trauma survivors’ and general topic writing workshops since 2002.

Jen holds an MFA in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University, and an MA in Transformative Language Arts from Goddard College. Jen lives with her beloved wife and pets in Southern Maine.
